Skydive Perris' Online First Jump Course

The online First Jump Course (FJC) includes detailed lesson plans covering the information needed before jumping out of a plane for your first student jump! You'll learn a range of skills, like how to fly your body in freefall, how your equipment functions, what to do if things don’t go as expected, and much more. Exams will accompany each module, and a final exam will conclude the course. After completion of the online FJC, you will attend a pre-scheduled in-person practical (2-3 hours) with one of our instructors to review the material and complete the hands-on portion of your training.  After this, you will complete your PSP Level 1 skydive, accompanied by two certified instructors!

Benefits of taking the FJC online:

  • You can repeatedly watch material for better comprehension.
  • Topics are broken down into shorter segments to not overwhelm.
  • Watch from any device, anywhere, including the comfort of your own home.
  • Progress at your own pace and customize the course around your schedule.

 Fine Print:

  • You will have access to this online course for 30 days. The course must be completed in this time frame. You can complete the course sooner and keep your 30-day access.
  • After completion of this course, you will have 30 days from completion of your final exam to arrive for your in-person practical.
  • To complete your PSP level 1 skydive, you must be at least 18 years of age or older, under 240 lbs, and in good physical health. Previous shoulder dislocation history will require a doctor's note.
  • This online skydiving course is not applicable to any other skydiving center and is not complete without the final in-person training at Skydive Perris.
  • This course is required prior to being able to complete your in-person practical and PSP Level 1 skydive.

What People Are Saying:

As a "C" License skydiver doing a recert, as June was the last time I jumped. I was told I didn't have to do the online course but I'm glad I did. Have a better idea of how the DZ is laid out and you can never get enough training. Not my first FJC but easily the best..I am scheduled to do my check-out practical on Feb.1st followed by two weeks of tunnel time and courses. I would strongly recommend anyone to do their FJC and [student] program at Perris.

I learned so much in doing the course at home. Took my time and could really relax and digest the modules and take the quizzes. I really believe this would have been hard for me in a class room environment,I probably wouldn't have done it. I truly expected to fail the final and retake till passing but I passed first try. Im now going to reread and take the quizzes again, helps me to reinforce the material. Thank you so much for offering this virtual learning tool.
